2016 Raises the Bar for Regulations, Driver Shortages & More

February 25, 2016 – Food Logistics – The electronic logging device (ELD) mandate marks one of the biggest regulatory changes in the fleet industry’s history, requiring many drivers to electronically comply with hours of service (HOS) rules that instruct a driver to take a 30-minute break with every eight hours. East Coast Warehouse & Distribution, an asset-based 3PL in Elizabeth, NJ, that specializes in port deliveries, says the mandate will bring a cost to the supply chain and could impact productivity, which is the company’s most important goal.
