East Coast Warehouse & Distribution Receives 2018 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Green Supply Chain Award

ELIZABETH, NJDecember 10, 2018 – East Coast Warehouse & Distribution, a leading temperature-controlled logistics provider located on the Port of New York/New Jersey and in Philadelphia, today announced it has received the Green Supply Chain Award for 2018 from Supply & Demand Chain Executive for the third time. The company has been recognized for its continued sustainability initiatives, which have resulted in the production of more than 748,000 kWHr of clean, renewable energy; a reduction in more than 3.6 million pounds of carbon dioxide, more than 29,000 pounds of sulfur dioxide and 13,000 pounds of nitrogen from the atmosphere; and the recycling of more than 2.3 million pounds of cardboard and 288,000 pounds of plastic stretch wrap, among other things.

The Green Supply Chain Award recognizes companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and supply chains. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals.

This year’s 10th-annual awards recognize small, mid-size and large enterprises that leveraged green practices and solutions to further drive sustainable improvements in their supply chain.

“We are proud to be continually recognized for our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and the results our sustainability program has generated to date,” said East Coast Warehouse CEO Jamie Overley. “From small efforts such as encouraging employees to recycle paper and save on printing, to large initiatives that include expanding the use of solar panels across additional warehouse buildings, sustainability is truly a company-wide effort at East Coast Warehouse.”
